1986 - 2013 OWNED AND OPERATED THE TIRE DEPOT INC

Established, built and managed an Independent wholesale/retail automotive tire repair store with gross annual sales of over $2.3 million and a tire volume of over 13,000 tires a year with a ten employee workforce. An Authorized Michelin-Uniroyal, BF Goodrich dealer also marketing Goodyear, Falken, Pirelli and Sumitomo tires. Sold, repaired, and adjusted thousands of all makes of tires on all models of cars and light trucks including, motor homes, box trucks, off the road vehicles, heavy equipment and commercial light trucks.

Sold and installed Poly Fill (foam fill) for commercial use in heavy construction equipment. Received and processed over 500 failed tires for return to manufacturers for possible warranty consideration. Replaced and processed 2 tire recalls; the Firestone (Ford Explorer) tire and BFG tire recalls of 2000 and 2012. Inspected, repaired and realigned hundreds of autos and light trucks including the rebuilding of suspensions.

I am familiar with the manufacturer Tire Guides and Tire Fitment Guides for authorized safe tire sizing substitutions and Plus 1 conversions. Analyzed hundreds of tire failures to determine possible manufacturer defects, road hazard or customer misuse. Established employee guidelines for proper tire repair techniques and establish company policy guidelines for tire fitness.

1988-1993 President and Vice- President Southern California of Tire Dealers Association –San Diego Chapter

1983-1985 Pearl Harbor Shipyard, Depart of Defense as a Nuclear Test Engineer.

Duties included writing test procedures for repairs of nuclear related steam and reactor systems, instruction and preparation of remedial courses for new test engineers. Collateral duties included directing over 20 new engineer hires for orientation and office remodeling.

Tire store operation: Administration, Shop equipment operation protocol and maintenance (including equipment troubleshooting), employee supervision.

Employee supervision, instruction, discipline and training. 

Cal OSHA- Administration of Illness and Injury program, supervision of monthly safety requirements and records, enforcement of employee safe practices and injury reporting protocol for immediate medical care and Cal OSHA reporting (if required).
